Jim Esswein is a Senior Consultant at AXIA Resources with over 25 years experience in internal controls, financial & management reporting, consulting, contract analysis and international reporting in the Oil & Gas industry.

Since joining AXIA, Jim has been the team leader in projects involving internal control reviews as required by Sarbanes-Oxley, systems implementation and conversion, process improvement and development of financial strategies. Jim's Sarbanes-Oxley experience includes evaluating clients internal control structure, documenting clients internal control with narratives, flow charts and matrices.

Prior to joining AXIA Resources, Jim served as Internal Controls and Financial Consultant at UHY Advisors and Jefferson Wells International. Previously, Jim held various management roles during his 17-year tenure at Unocal including many overseas assignments. His achievements include establishing policies and procedures for various international offices, implementing an internal control assessment for a $1 billion division as well as reducing costs and audit claims through thorough research and documentation. He has also been responsible for the accounts payable function in the corporate headquarters of Transocean Offshore Inc. While at Transocean, Jim reduced late paid invoices from 30% to 15%, established new division in Trinidad which generated $35MM in revenues, hired and trained local accounting staff and prepared monthly forecasts and annual budgets.

Jim earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Accounting from California State University and a Master of Business Administration - International Studies from the University of Houston, Clear Lake.
